Here is a report on John Thune's visit to the Black Hill's town of Hill City:
This morning’s breakfast wasn't all about free food. An audience of about 70 people listened as Thune addressed issues ranging from healthcare to supreme court appointments, and even the importance of morality in politics. “Some will do anything for the vote. We're sick of that. We want somebody that will be there and reflect our values,” said Thune.Suzanne Crandall of Hill City said, “I think those values are more wide spread than you would think, there not just small town America values. They're all American values I think.” And with most polls showing Thune and US Senator Tom Daschle running neck and neck, Thune hopes getting back to basics will be enough to keep him from falling short this time around. “Being able to shake their hands and being able to look them in the eye. This what politics in South Dakota is all about,” said Thune.
