At 6:50 AM this morning, KELO-TV covered the Ellsworth issue and added a piece about Sibby Online. Here is the text:
Here at home, political activists are sounding off on the Internet. Both Democrats and Republicans are giving their opinions on Internet blogs.
Let's take a look at one Democratic one, called Thune Watch. They pull a section from an article in the Chicago Sun-Times, written Monday, which says that the BRAC commission will likely close Ellsworth forever... which will also put an end to Senator John Thune's pull in Washington, basically saying the Senator has no influence on the decision.
On another blog, this time a Republican one called Sibbey Online, the author talks about how Senator Thune was the one to send "BRAC Commission Chairman" Anthony Principi a letter, detailing the mistakes in calculating the savings.
Of course, there are all kinds of different sites out there that talk about this, too many for us to detail.
The general consensus is South Dakotans don't want to see Ellsworth close, no matter who can influence that decision.
Note that they misspelled Sibby. But Todd Epp might be more upset at the broadcast version. [go to the 1 hour 20 minute spot for the report] They referred to his web site as a "Democratic one" as they linked to the Theron McChesney site in the above web coverage.
