Oil prices fell in an unusual trading session Sunday after a weakened Hurricane Rita struck the U.S. Gulf Coast away from a major refining hub in Houston, although at least two big refineries were damaged.
November Brent crude fell 44 cents to $62 a barrel in light trading during a special session on London's International Petroleum Exchange (IPE).
U.S. crude oil fell over $1 to about $63.10 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange ACCESS platform Sunday after tumbling more than $2 a barrel on Friday.
Gasoline for October delivery sank 7.56 cents to $2.01 a gallon, traders said.
