Kevin McCullough has an interesting column about God and the so-called liberals. Here is the introduction:
Liberals hate God.
They don't want to believe in Him.
And they are at a complete loss when events unfold like that of Hurricane Katrina.
For what happened in the moments of the creation of Katrina – and what will happen in the aftermath for months – will defy what liberals want to believe about God. But they should pay attention, because He is speaking.
Kevin then tells why the left hates God…because they think they are the all powerful god:
The problem, we humans believe now, is that this destruction is so much more violent, unusual or aberrant that it has never been this way before. Of course, we only say this because we did silly things like build cities – below sea level – and then expected in our arrogance that a levee would hold against such natural violence.
God saw that levee and laughed: "Silly humans ... who do they think they are? Me?"
Of course, the balance that such violent weather brings with it is something that can only be seen over the course of the entire history of the planet. Our desperation during it is proof that we are not the Almighty, nor are we even a poor substitute for Him. Liberals hate this because they believe they are God. They believe that they hold the answers to the ultimate questions in life.
How sadly mistaken they are.
And as the churches provide to those in need the liberals will instead whine about Republicans:
Churches will – for Sundays to come – take up special collections to aid those who are at this moment in the greatest shock and pain they have ever experienced.
In the process they will share the love of the God who made them with them, in the hopes of helping those who are hurting find and know the source of ultimate comfort in such pain.
Liberals will do just the opposite. They will complain. They will create excuses as to why President Bush should be blamed for the damage that was brought about by Katrina. They have and will make crazy statements about how this wouldn't have happened if we weren't fighting the War on Terror. They will say it's Iraq's fault, it's Rumsfeld's fault, it's Bush's fault.
Blaming Iraq and Bush is exactly what Chad Schuldt was doing yesterday. How sad.
