Jeremy Funked up again

Jeremy Funk, one of the Hildebrand Boy bloggers, has a habit of bashing John Thune through false connections with other persons. First he participated in the ridiculous accusation that there was some kind of connection between Jeff Gannon and John Thune. He also participated in the false conspiracy theory between Dan Nelson, MetaBank, and John Thune. Now he his lack of legitimate research has him after one of John Thune’s staff:

Mark Haugen, former editor of the unprofitable anti-Daschle gas station tabloid and coinciding blog The Bird, former owner of the Tea-Harrisburg Champion, hypocrite sympathizer, current John Thune staffer, and douche bag extraordinaire is apparently involved in some kind of legal battle with MetaBank, which you may remember is the same bank John Thune sat as a board member when his best friend Dan Nelson was granted millions of dollars in loans...pre-bankruptcy filings, post-Iowa Attorney General fraud investigation.

In the Sept. 7-20, 2005 issue of Sioux Falls Business Journal, under the ‘Civil Petitions’ section for Minnehaha County, it lists quite simply, "Mark A. Haugen vs. MetaBank."

I haven’t the foggiest what this legal kerfuffle is all about, but I do think, given the Thune connection, someone in the SD Media ought to at the very least give a lil’ jingle to the Thune office to find out what’s going on here.

This comment was left over at Todd Epp’s web site points to a second Mark Haugan:

Todd, the Mark Haugen, Jeremy is referring to, as referenced in the Sioux Falls Business Journal, who is involved in a legal dispute with Metabank is actually a former DNA employee. This former employee, along with several others filed in small claims court for their wages, and Metabank petitioned for the cases to be kicked up to Circuit Court.

Funk then adds this update:

'Erin' suggested to Epp today that this Mark Haugen is "actually a former DNA employee." I'm not sure if there are two Mark Haugens or if Thune's Haugen waxed Dan Nelson's jalopies on the weekend or what (it's certainly not out of the realm of possibility considering how tight all these guys are). Either way, none of this changes the fact that the Mark Haugen I'm talking about is a douche bag.

I spoke with Thune staffer Mark Haugan last night and confirmed there are two Mark Haugans and the one I spoke to denies filing a suit against MetaBank. Looks like Jeremy Funked up again by making false allegations. And all in a desperate and delusional effort to bash John Thune.

I would also note that Todd Epp came to Haugan’s (the Thune staffer) defense and the link to his web site has been reinstated at my sidebar as Sibby's token lefty.
