John Thune on pledge ruling

From Black Hills Portal:

WASHINGTON, DC—Sen. John Thune (R-SD) today issued the following statement in response to a ruling by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California that reciting "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional:

"A cornerstone of American pride and patriotism—the Pledge of Allegiance—has once again come under attack," said Thune. "This is yet another example of an irresponsible decision by a liberal activist judge unable to separate personal politics from public service.

"As we work to fill two vacancies in the highest court of the land, today’s news only serves to underscore the importance of appointing judicial nominees who refuse to allow their personal views to shape decisions. America needs justices whose respect for the Constitution is paramount in all proceedings."
