Check out this quote from a Reuters report:
A group of moderate religious leaders calling themselves "Pastors for Moral Choices" has taken the opposite stance and launched its own ads opposing the abortion ban.
"The ban is neither just nor compassionate and as people of faith we take note that the Bible and Jesus don't address abortion," said Rev. Kathy Timpany, assistant pastor of First Congregational Church in Sioux Falls.
Note the use of "moderate". Sad how the Drive-By media uses labels to give a false impression about the truth. And the Rev. Kathy Timpany is promoting a false argument regarding the Bible. Here is what Francis J, Beckwith concluded about that argument on page 141 of his book, "Politically Correct Death":
We can conclude that just as the Bible does not forbid murdering people with submachine guns, the Bible does not forbid abortion. But since one can infer that murdering persons with submachine guns is wrong from the fact that the Bible forbids murdering in general, one can also infer that the Bible teaches that abortion is not justified from the fact that the Bible refers to unborn human beings as persons and forbids the murdering of persons in general. If one were to accept the hermeneutical principle that whatever the Bible does not specifically forbid is permissible, one would be in the position of sanctioning everything from slavery to nuclear warfare to computer vandalism. Hence, the question is not whether the Bible specifically forbids abortion, but rather, whether the unborn are treated as persons. If they are, then we can infer that abortion in almost all circumstances is morally wrong.
Abortion is not a moral choice. Abortion is dead wrong. Vote yes for life on 6.
