The day after black Monday has been one of much conversation and listening to those who have frustrations with the conservative cause. I think an important point is that the conservative cause should not be about the politics of personal destruction, but instead focus needs to be on the issues.
I have more thoughts about what Pat Powers has done, but like other nasty issues, I had decided they are not important in the overall scope of what is in the best interests to us all.
The mission of this web site has been in search of the truth. Today I can say that I have a much higher understanding of the truth than what I had when I started this web site. Based on that I have developed priorities as follows:
1: God
2: Family
3: America
4: Political affiliation
If Party affiliation gets into the way of the first three, then it has to go. I believe the conservative cause is about the top three priorities. And in regard to Republican versus Democrat I believe most Republicans have it right, while most Democrats have it wrong. This also means that some Republicans have it wrong and some Democrats have it right.
And then there are those that are Independent. I think many are Independent because of too much politics of personal destruction. David Kranz has helped me understand the importance of that group with my most recent conversation with him.
Unfortunately, I believe Independents can not fully participate in the political process. Even though the real debate is largely between two competing worldviews, Biblical Christian versus humanism, I believe political action is a necessary component in fighting that culture war. So in that regard, I believe it is better to fight with a political force where most of the people have it right. And that currently is the Republican Party. With that said, I believe it is just as important to support those Democrats and Independents who also adhere to the Biblical Christian worldview. And I think that avoiding politics of personal destruction is a must in order to constructively work with those people. I think that becomes obvious to one whose number one priority is God.
As a fallen man, I have and probably at times will again forget what is most important. Today I have a renewed focus to lessen those times. And in that regard, I would like to thank Randell Beck for his conservation that ended by day yesterday. May God Bless him.
And with all of that said, I do not want to give the impression that I will stop describing the worldview of secular humanists as being anti-God, anti-Christian, anti-American, and anti-family. I believe that to be the truth. I hope you all understand that fits the above priorities I have detailed above. I also hope those who hear me say those things understand that I am talking about ones position on issues, and not the person as a whole. We all are sinners. Those I love the most are quick to point out my sins as I believe they are the ones that love me the most. And my parents are at the top of that list. That is why family carries such a high priority as it reinforces the top priority.
And with regard to America, I believe the strength of this great country has been its Biblical Christian worldview. We as the citizens of this country that is based on inalienable rights that are granted only by God have a sacred duty to our political leaders to hold them to a high Biblical standard. But the way that is done is what I believe needs to be worked on. If it simply is intended to be a means to personally destroy others, it is wrong. The intent has to be out of love for others and to attack sin without attacking the sinner.
Yes, easier said than done, but I now carry on with hope that I can do it better. And I will continue to fight for what I believe in within the Republican Party…if they will have me.
God Bless all of those who read this site. Remember that all glory belongs to Him that guides us.
