The battle over worldviews

As most of my readers know, I have been detailing the public policy debate in terms of the worldviews that underlie the conservative and the liberal positions. John Chalfant provides the same analysis in his book "America, A Call to Greatness". This is from the introduction to Chapter 2:

The real battlegrounds in America’s struggle are the minds and heats of her people. Most battlefield wars, including acts of genocide and "ethnic cleansing," are culminations of clashes over conflicting ideas, acute differences in worldviews.

"The fundamental questions of ethics is who makes the rules? God or men? The theistic answer is that God makes them. The humanistic answer is that men make them. This distinction between theism and humanism is the fundamental division in moral theory.

Dr. Tim LaHaye, in his book The Battle for the Mind, expressed, " In this world there are two basic lines of reasoning that determine the morals, values, life-styles and activities of mankind-the wisdom of man or the wisdom of God.

Regarding man’s wisdom, in all of recorded history neither Secular Humanism with its pantheistic religions nor atheistic Marxism/Leninism has produced anything but tyranny, misery, and enslavement. This is understandable because The heart is deceitful above all thi8ngs, and desperately wicked… (Jer. 17:9). This is referring to the heart of "fallen" unregenerate man.

The Secular Humanist looks to himself and his finite vision, not to God, as the sour e of truth and final authority. His "situational ethics" recognize no absolute standards of morality and truth. The "wisdom of man" is therefore no true wisdom at all because its maximun depth of perception can only be based upon life’s finite experience and observations.

There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death (Prov, 14:12 NKJ). With no eternal value system or standards fro truth the Secular Humanist is an easy victim of Satan, the master of deceit, and is highly vulnerable to enlistment into his cause.

In total contrast, …where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (2 Cor, 2:17). The absolute, unchanging Word and Truth of God spans the generations, …his truth endureth to all generations (Ps. 100:5). Thus, the underlying nature of America’s struggles is truly spiritual as Satan manifests himself through godless men, while Christ manifests Himself through true believers.

That explains why the secular agenda of the South Dakota MAINstrem Coalition was wrongheaded. On page 14, Chalfant explains why the push by Senators Dempster, Knudson, and Ed Olson for expanding the authority of the state Department of Education into preschools and daycares was a most dangerous legislation as it was dangerous to freedom:

For several decades after the 1962 Supreme Court decisions, Engel v. Vitale in which the Court ruled that prayer in the public schools is "unconstitutional," America continued to turn her back on God and underwent a gradual moral deterioration and loss of purpose and greatness that today have rendered her weak where she should be strong, corrupted when she should be virtuous, and accelerating toward collapse into a godless, humanistic world government that will enslave her children.

Unfortunately most Americans do not understand this worldview battleground. And more disturbing than that, people like Pat Powers will even personally attack those of us who bring forward the truth regarding the worldviews that are impacting today’s public policy positions.

The secular movement is wrong as their anti-God agenda ends up being anti-American. The moral decay is destroying the social order of the traditional American family that God details in the Bible, so the secular movement is also anti-family. The secular movement uses lies to confuse the masses into believing that there is a one-way separation of church and state, but the truth is that they are separating the people form the Truth. And they are also pushing the lie that Christians are creating a "Theocracy". If they would look at my previous post, they should understand that that is wrong as all people have EQUAL RIGHTS if we all agree that authority comes from God, our universal Father.

[Editor’s note: Here is more about John Chalfant: Chalfant was asked by the American Security Council to head its national pro-defense "SALT SYNDROME" video marketing campaign which President Ronald Reagan later wrote was a major factor in his election victory. Chalfant is also a member of the Council for National Policy.]
