Mr. Powers, sir, I have never regretted my decision to leave the College Republicans and the Republican Party. The day I registered as an "Independent" was a day of great relief. It was like a large political weight had been lifted of my shoulders. I have never been so happy and content in my life as I am now. I finally realized that after leaving the GOP, I made the right decision and that I no longer had to conform myself to a political party that I had believed and still believe has sold out the values that they had so desperately and for so many years claimed they stood for. They sold out decency for power. They sold out their values and any credibility they had left for power. But, I’m not part of them anymore and never wish to be again. My message to you Mr. Pat Powers and the South Dakota GOP and the National Republican Party: you can have all the power you desire. I don’t care about your power, your dirty money, or your supposed connections. I don’t care about the power, dirty money, and control of the Democrats, including Obama. It means didley squat to me. I don’t answer to you Mr. Powers…I don’t answer to President Bush…and I don’t answer to Barack Obama. I answer to God…Yahweh… and He alone. My conscience is clean. My thinking is clear and my life is my own. I wish you a life of happiness, Mr. Powers. Enough said. I’m done with this silly little blog.
Respectfully,
Mondak
I have accused the Democrats of caring more for power than principles. And Mondak is right, the SD GOP also has decided to care more about power and ruling over South Dakota than they do principles, including those found in the SD GOP platform. We have lost South Dakota’s state motto, "Under God the People Rule". It is time to stop with the Democrat versus Republican distraction and understand that the true battle should be over issues and the worldview underpinnings of those principles. Today we have both parties increasing the size of an already bloated government. The only thing that they are fighting over is whose fraternity will rule over the people and control the people's money. Now we can understand why both state Parties are against IM10.
Have you ever considered the possibility that both parties are standing against it because #1, it's yet another out of state "solution" looking for a problem?
And #2, your organization is simply acting as someone else's shill to hide the actual source of the money?
In history, someone else had the same moral qualities as your group; his name was Judas Iscariot. As he sold out for thirty pieces of silver, so has the SDCAC sold themselves out.
I once said that your group, the SDCAC, was the same as the Mainstream coalition. Clearly, I was wrong.
They're worse.
Show us the money, Steve. We're all waiting.
[Sibby's response: First you show proof that I received "thirty pieces of silver". As the post shows, your reputation for making stuff up for personal political gain is becoming more and more obvious.]
