The liberal out-of-state mish-mash
Pat Powers makes this hypocritical statement:
As the Yes on 10 proponent, Dena was sounding more than a little bit nutty, as she tried to have her cake and eat it too. And She conveniently forgot to answer several of the questions posed by the moderator, especially when it came to their out of state funding as laundered through the South Dakota Conservative Action Council.
David, on the other hand, effectively pointed out the out-of-state mish-mash the measure represents…
IM10 is about removing the "out-of-state mish-mash" being pushed down our throats by the NEA via the federal funding of education as detailed by Allen Quist in FedEd.
I have lived in South Dakota all of my life, and currently work 4 blocks from where I was born. I recently received a scrapbook from my family that contained interested history of the Dakota Proposition ballot measures from the 1980’s that were aimed at reducing property taxes. In it is a list of organizations that formed a coalition against Dakota Proposition II. It included:
Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce
Associated School Boards of South Dakota
South Dakota Education Association
South Dakota Municipal Attorneys Association
South Dakota Municipal Electric Association
South Dakota Municipal Liquor Control Association
That was just a sampling. But it does show that many of those opposed to property tax reform in the 1980s are also opposed to IM10. Clearly the Educrats and the Chamber of Commerce plutocrats are benefiting off of the taxpayers’ dime, including out-of-state citizens who fund the federal bureaucracy. Their tactics include misleading voters by using the large amount of resources that they have amassed over the decades.
The NEA and this centralized control of our economy through the Chamber of Commerce and "economic development" organization flies into the face of the American way. They control the political process in Pierre during the legislative session. I have been there enough to know that to be true. IM10 rocks their boat. Too bad, because it is now way past the time that we return the government to its limited scope of catering to the common good and stop catering to special interest plutocrats. They are the ones that have their cake and eating the taxpayers' cake too.
Yessiree...the usual suspects. We call them the "Axis of Taxes."
