It should not be surprising that the far-left would use the Easter weekend to advance their anti-Christian crusade. But when they accuse America of being a theocracy, that also combines their anti-American attitude with their anti-Christian crusade. Today's Easter theocracy lie can even be understood by those on the left who read Wikipedia:
Theocracy, as a form of ruling the state, should be distinguished from the internal order of a religious community. The Knights Hospitaller is a religious order with an internal rule, but this does not make it a theocracy. Many states incorporate elements of religious law in their civil laws, but if these laws are administered by civil courts according to the logic of the state, this does not constitute a theocratic element in their constitutions.
And here are examples that are considered true theocracies:
Most observers would consider Iran a theocracy, since the elected president and legislature are constitutionally subject to the supervision of two offices reserved for Shiah clerics: the Supreme Leader of Iran (Rahbar) and the Guardian Council, which even decide who may run for office.
Iran is also considered a "semi-democracy", like China or Russia. However, Iranian authorities themselves consider Iran a theo-democracy or religious democracy.
Saudi Arabia is run according to a version of shari'a (traditional Islamic legislation) with the Quran declared to be the constitution and is therefore sometimes classified as theocratic, but it is officially and in political fact a hereditary monarchy, with the King wielding near-absolute power and the organs of official religion subservient to them, which is rather caesaropapism: a state structure in which the government ('Caesar') is also in control of the main religious institutions.
So if these people are truly concerned about theocracy, then they should be speaking out against this:
What does the Arabic word jihad mean?
One answer came last week, when Saddam Hussein had his Islamic leaders appeal to Muslims worldwide to join his jihad to defeat the "wicked Americans" should they attack Iraq; then he himself threatened the United States with jihad.
As this suggests, jihad is "holy war." Or, more precisely: It means the legal, compulsory, communal effort to expand the territories ruled by Muslims at the expense of territories ruled by non-Muslims.
The purpose of jihad, in other words, is not directly to spread the Islamic faith but to extend sovereign Muslim power (faith, of course, often follows the flag). Jihad is thus unabashedly offensive in nature, with the eventual goal of achieving Muslim dominion over the entire globe.
And for all of you atheists, the Jihadists also are intolerant toward you. And the Islamic theocracy has made itself present in the American government:
A state senator in Texas is feeling the heat from constituents – and trying to apologize – for arranging to have a controversial Muslim imam deliver a prayer to open the state Senate that excluded both Christians and Jews.
"Imagine the outcry if a Christian or Jew had offered a prayer that excluded all other religions to open the state Senate!" said S. Newman. "This state and nation were established and have been sustained on a foundation of Biblical principles and practices. The only reason to attack the foundation of any structure is to initiate the process which leads to ultimate destruction."
This week, Imam Yusuf Kavakci of the Dallas Central Mosque opened the state Senate with a plea for protection from those who do not follow Islam.
"Oh, Allah, guide us to the straight path, the path of those whom you have favored, not of those who have earned your wrath or of those who have lost the way," he said.
Islam, of course, teaches that Jews and Christians both have earned the wrath of Allah by failing to follow Islam, and also have lost the way by following the teachings of the Torah for the Jews or the Bible for Christians.
And for those who are attacking Christians today, think about this:
"Imagine if an evangelical Christian pastor prayed in Jesus name, ONLY FOR CHRISTIANS, before the government of Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, etc., during Ramadan," the statement said.
And I don’t think you have to go as far as "ONLY FOR CHRISTIANS". I would like to see those atheists and humanists who are "blogging against theocracy" directed at Christians during Easter to try that during Ramadan and direct it at the Jihadists.
And for those of you on the left’s anti-American peace movemnt, here is more on Kavakci:
The day he appeared, Shapiro posted a promotion for Kavakci on her state website.
"He is a Turkish-licensed attorney and has been a law professor at Istanbul University and Ataturk University in Turkey. He is currently the resident Islamic scholar for the Dallas Central Mosque…" she said. "He serves on the Peace Institute Advisory Board at Richland Community College in Richardson, and is a member of the Richardson ISD Religious Practices Advisory Board as well as the Religious Community Task Force of Dallas Independent School District."
The Dallas-Forth Worth chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations had promoted the occasion as a huge step forward.
"Don't miss the next milestone event for the Texas Muslim community!' DFW-CAIR's announcement read. "On April 4, 2007, the first Muslim imam will open the Texas Senate with an Islamic prayer."
WND reported in 2005 on the nonpartisan Freedom House report documenting Saudi-sponsored hate literature, originating with the government and Saudi-financed sources that reflected "extremist Wahhabi ideology," being disseminated through mosques in the U.S.
One of those mosques, according to a critical editorial in the Dallas Morning News, was Kavacki's:
"The mosque's imam, Dr. Yusuf Kavakci, has publicly praised two of the world's foremost radical Islamists, Yusuf Qaradawi and Hasan al-Turabi, as exemplary leaders. Dr. Kavakci also sits on the board of the Saudi-backed Islamic Society of North America, described in congressional testimony as a major conduit of Wahhabist teaching. Yet Dr. Kavakci tells The Dallas Morning News he rejects Wahhabist teaching. Something doesn't add up," said the editorial.
So now, not only is the left’s theocracy blame is misplaced, so is its attack on America as being imperialist. They are part of the same "peace" movement that Kavakci is using to con America. Here is more on that:
While publicly promoting non-violent protest and humanitarian causes, the leaders of a prominent group that organized and participated in an anti-war demonstration at the U.S. Capitol are staunch supporters of terrorist groups and dictatorial regimes worldwide.
Saturday's rally, which focused on opposition to a U.S.-led war against Iraq and drew 100,000 protesters, featured speeches by the Rev. Jesse Jackson, the Rev. Al Sharpton, actress-activist Susan Sarandon, singer-songwriter Patti Smith, as well as a host of lesser-known figures.
The large turnout signals an invigoration of the anti-war movement, which has been increasingly dominated by the international A.N.S.W.E.R coalition, an organizational front group formed by the International Action Coalition. Closely allied with IAC is the World Workers Party, a quasi-Stalinist organization that supports authoritarian regimes and Communist dictatorships.
...
Overall, IAC considers the U.S. to be the foremost terrorist threat to the world and has claimed that Osama bin Laden was the victim of an imperialist American plot. Brian Becker, member of the secretariat of the World Workers Party, national co-director for the IAC and a member of the national A.N.S.W.E.R. steering committee, is admired by the North Korean dictatorship for his loyalty to their state as well. At a press conference in Pyongyang, Becker denounced the U.S. for "mercilessly killing innocent people."
Now wouldn’t the Jihadists who are performing a "Holy War" whose "eventual goal of achieving Muslim dominion over the entire globe" be more like imperialism? Osama bin Laden is the imperialist, not the victim. Unbelievable.
So instead of blaming America for being an imperialistic theocracy, the far-left should take a good look at the truth and instead turn their attention to the world’s foremost imperialistic theocracy…the Jihadists. Yes, they may agree with the Communists, humanists, and atheists hatred toward Christianity and America. But in the end, the Jihdists condemn all who do not follow Allah and support an "Islamic Nation" that is based solely on the Quran. And that would include Communists, humanists, and atheists.
On this Easter weekend, let us Christians pray for our enemies including those Communists, humanists, atheists, and Jihadists. We should love then, but we should not trust them. For they do lie. By offering prayers and the truth, perhaps some of these misguided people will see the light.
UPDATE: We need to say a special prayer to this misguided person:
But see, I love Jesus, and I'm strongly committed to making sure YOUR right NOT to believe is protected. I also believe, while we're at it, that I would be SINNING against my God to attempt to convert you.
It is not a sin to talk about Jesus and God…even in public. It is also YOUR RIGHT. Amazing how the left’s Kool-Aid causes some to not see the truth.
