Here is the latest from the sex worshipers who follow the religion of secular humanism:
Public schools are, more brazenly than ever, taking control of your kids. Here's an example of this from last week's headlines.
On June 10, the school committee for Provincetown, Mass., unanimously approved a policy making condoms available free to any student in any grade asking for one. The school nurse will "counsel" the student, including on "abstinence."
The policy applies to all schools in the district, including Veterans' Elementary School where some parents objected to their kindergartners being told they can get free condoms from the school nurse.
"I think the parents should have some input into the decision, but I support that education and awareness," said parent Mark Peters.
"It just seems it's a little too young. Middle-school age might be more appropriate," said parent Paige Perry.
Superintendent Dr. Beth Singer says the parents were intentionally shut out of the loop "to protect the children's privacy."
The chairman of the school committee, Peter Grosso, defended the free condoms for 6-year-olds, calling it a "great policy."
Facing strong challengers in his bid for re-election, Gov. Deval Patrick criticized the policy asking for reconsideration as to age and parental involvement.
So in P-Town, notorious as is San Francisco for its large "gay" population and its pervasive "gay friendly" attitude, the school committee wants to offer 6-year-olds condoms at taxpayers' expense.
Throughout his political career, Obama has consistently declared his view that the Constitution's purposeful restraint of government power is obsolete. Since the outset of his occupation of the White House, he and his faction have signaled their intent to circumvent, undermine or simply set aside the authority of the U.S. Constitution. Both here and in postings on my blog I have repeatedly had occasion to remark upon the design for despotism that has been evident in their actions.
Now "eight Republican senators … are warning that the Obama administration is drafting a plan to 'unilaterally' issue blanket amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants as it struggles to win support in Congress for an overhaul of immigration laws." This represents the decisive step beyond derelict law enforcement. Not content merely to ignore the laws the legislature has properly and constitutionally made, Obama signals the intention to undertake unilateral executive action that alters the clear terms and intention of the established laws, entirely without the constitutionally determined consent of the people. This will be a blatant and presumptuous usurpation of legislative power. This is not just dereliction, it is lawless tyranny. It is outright dictatorship.
Constitutionally exercised, the executive power represents the force of law. Once divorced, however, from constitutional provisions for ascertaining the consent of the people, it asserts instead the law of force, the unjust rule that might makes right. In effect, just laws fall silent, and all that speaks are the government's instruments of force and intimidation, imposing rules that have no more warrant of lawfulness than the command of a terrorist over those he holds, by threat of violence, hostage to his will. The forces under the authority of the presidency become in that case a weapon, loaded and cocked, held to the head of the American people.
One issue the South Dakota GOP barked about at the convention was the need for unity after hard fought primary and Constitutional office races. There was a very hard fought battle for the Treasurer's office which Rich Sattgast won. I received word yesterday that Mike Mehlhaff's brother, who worked as an auditor under Rich Sattgast, was fired. And a Party who nominates a person who proposed a 43% increase in the Auditor's General Fund budget versus the actuals spent in 2002, expects conservatives to join with the Progressives, just for the good of the Republican Party?
This has not been the first time a conservatives's family member has been fired after taking on the Progressive establishment of the SDGOP. Does not sound like there is enough room the the SDGOP's BigTent for serious conservatives. Remember the Republicans for Johnsonin 2002 and the Republicans for Dascle in 2004. Why are they not pushed out of the Big Tent instead of us true conservatives? Sounds like SDGOP unity means holding tight to the decisions made by the Progressive central planners of the Party. So how different is that to being a Democrat? I find it odd that the SDGOP blasts Obama for adding to the National Debt while they happily spend it here is South Dakota.
Once I finish helping a friend move, I plan to provide some convention coverage. But I thought this bit of news needed to get out today. More to come.
Because our president is a thin-skinned narcissist who, because of some juvenile comments said in an atmosphere influenced by alcohol at a bar in private, forced a four-star general with over 37 years in the military to humiliate himself by being summoned to the White House from the Afghanistan theater – yet Obama purposely does nothing to stop the oil flowing into the Gulf of Mexico for nearly 70 days because he is scrupulously following the tactics of Saul Alinsky by using this catastrophe as a pretext to destroy and nationalize the private oil industry.
Cowardice beats courage.
Epilogue
Articles I, II and III of the U.S. Constitution outline the separation of powers of Congress, the Executive and the Judiciary, respectively. If the Obama administration and the Stalinist-controlled media are too obtuse to see any impropriety in politicians ordering private-sector executives about, upstaging the courts and threatening confiscation, as editors of The Economist recently queried, then the U.S. is no better than fascist dictatorships like Russia, China, Iran, Cuba or Venezuela.
"Courage vs. cowardice" has been the leitmotiv throughout the ages where few have seized the former and many have embraced the latter. Would to God America had real men of unshakeable principle to say, "Damn my career! Damn my pension! Damn my chairmanship!" and exercise the courage to do the right thing without equivocation or apology.
Star Parker provides the common sense that intellectuals fail to understand:
A study released a few weeks ago by three professors at Harvard Business School boldly challenged common perceptions about the benefits of government spending.
Incumbent members of Congress, particularly if they are powerful committee chairmen, often tout their value to their districts by the amount of federal money they bring home.
According to this new study, it turns out that this isn't such good news. The government money simply displaces the private sector. According to the study, "the average firm in the chairman's state did not benefit at all from the increase in spending." Rather, "firms significantly cut physical and R&D spending, reduce employment and experience lower sales."
Economics, the joke goes, is common sense made difficult.
We still hold the sword in our hand, albeit by our fingertips. The sword I refer to is not in reference to the most important of all such "weapons" – "the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God" (Ephesians 6:17). That is for another column.
The sword of governing authority is described in Romans 13: "… for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil." The fact that it was placed in the hands of "We the People" by the framers and signers of the Constitution of the United States is the matter at hand.
Statistics, studies, polls and election results have shown us that most people who we define as Christians are doing one of three things:
We don't vote at all – we leave our sword in the sheath during battle;
We don't vote according to the Word of God – we misuse our sword;
We don't vote consistently – we use our sword only when it is convenient.
Theologian and author Wayne Grudem recently said, "Isn't the Bible good news about government too? Doesn't the Bible come to transform all areas of life? If I love my neighbor as myself, then I want good laws that protect my neighbor from evil and harm. …" His assertion is that "the biblical calling upon Christians to do good to others and love their neighbors also meant caring about what laws are passed by the government of the day."
Please read that again … and again … and again … and again.
Pastors in particular should teach and preach, and Christians in general must involve ourselves in the affairs of government if we love our neighbor. If I love God, I will be a good steward of what He has given to me and my life belongs to Him – the first "greatest" commandment.
If I love my neighbor as myself, I will do him no harm and will not allow anything or anybody under my authority to do him harm. (Do we need a Hippocratic Oath for Citizens?)
Since our government is under the authority of the people – who are under the authority of God – that means you and I must restrain the sword to its proper use: an important aspect of the second "greatest" commandment (Matthew 22:34-40).
As Grudem also states emphatically, "How can government officials rightly serve God if no one is able to let them know what God expects of them?" We "let them know" when we vote. Thankfully, the crises mentioned above are waking pastors up to the reality that we must reconnect the dots between God's eternal truth and the moral, professional, educational and political decision-making of every person sitting in our pews.
However, don't just settle for making sure you vote without fail in every election for the candidates who are definitively the closest to a biblical standard. Pastors, start a Salt & Light Ministry, Citizenship Ministry, Community Impact ministry – you decide what to call it.
The key is leadership and execution – your leadership and your ministry team's execution of the essentials. One resource to help you is Christian Citizenship 101, our manual to give you some step-by-step basics for starting.
For non-pastors who regularly attend a local church (if not – get busy and find one!), go offer to serve your pastor in starting one – start with downloading and reading "101" as well.
Our soldiers and Marines are dying because we put a fool in the White House; perversity is being increasingly glorified in federal policy for the same reason. We did it; we must fix it, with God's grace and help.
Evangelical left activist Jim Wallis of Sojourners has become the virtual house evangelical for the Obama administration. He is the ostensible chieftain of a supposedly populist uprising of social justice religionists whose “biblical principles” demand ever larger Big Government. So, naturally, Wallis is threatened by the Tea Party movement, whose support extends well beyond Wallis’ constituency of liberal clergy and campus activists.
Recently Wallis editorialized against the Tea Partiers from a “Christian” perspective, and invited Sojourners supporters to jump in with their own critique. He also opined against Libertarians, whom he regards as almost interchangeable with Tea Partiers. The sin of both groups, in Wallis’ eyes, is their hostility to Big Government, which Wallis of course equates with God’s Kingdom.
Obama is hardly the first president to plead for America to join a New World Order. It started with the first George Bush and has continued unabated through three more administrations. But Obama's so-called "National Security Strategy" has little to do with securing the U.S. from threats and much more to do with turning over the U.S. to the illegitimate authority of global organizations.
It starts early in the table of contents: "Promoting a Just and Sustainable International Order."
Woodrow Wilson tried with the League of Nations. Franklin D. Roosevelt tried with the United Nations. I guess we're going to keep trying this path until we get it right.
Nowhere in this document will you see the word "sovereignty" used in regard to the United States – only about Iraq and Russia. (Maybe all of us who want to live in a free and independent nation need to move to one of those locales?)
The last seven pages of the document are about this new "international order" Obama wants to build – a pretty ambitious agenda for a guy who has never run any business or served in any executive capacity before assuming the presidency. But don't worry. His plan is to bring in some people with lots of experience running things – the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, to name a few.
