The totalitarian Cory Heidelberger continues to ban me from his web site as I would only get into the way of his intolerant attacks against those he disagrees with, and also, my efforts to correct his deceptions. Here is how he addresses our concerns about the National debt in a post headlined "Debt Not Growing as Percentage of GDP":
The federal government has been without a debt for only one year in U.S. history, during parts of 1835 and 1836. As a percentage of the GDP, the debt peaked at the end of World War II. Notably, the dollar value of the debt increased through the 1950s and 1960s, but because of rapid economic growth, the debt fell dramatically relative to the size of the economy.
As the rapid growth after World War II indicates, a large debt doesn’t necessarily strangle an economy. That doesn’t mean that large debts are good for a country, just that the relationship between the debt and economic growth is a lot more complicated than political rhetoric would indicate
First line of deception is the use of GDP:
GDP is not to be confused with gross national product (GNP) which allocates production based on ownership.
Cory uses GDP to confuse his readers. GDP includes government spending, so as the National Debt goes up, so does government spending and GDP. Here is another important point:
Gross National Product (GNP) is often contrasted with Gross Domestic Product (GDP). While GNP measures the output generated by a country's enterprises (whether physically located domestically or abroad) GDP measures the total output produced within a country's borders - whether produced by that country's own local firms or by foreign firms.
SO Cory is using deception to make his readers think that the National Debt poses no problems to the financial stability of America.
So that allows Cory to go and make false accusations against Kristi Noem:
If Rep. Noem were really worried about the debt, she would be focusing on promoting the economic growth that pushes past debt growth. She wouldn't be voting to slow down the economy by shutting down the government. She wouldn't be voting to crash the economy by defaulting on U.S. obligations. And she wouldn't be writing a column titled "A Better Way to Restore Our Fiscal Future" that contains no outline of specific cuts that would reduce the national debt. (Remember: repealing the Affordable Care Act increases our debt.)
Boosting the American economy will reduce our debt better than any of Congresswoman Kristi Noem's vague slash-and-burn proposals. Rep. Noem's ill-informed votes have only sandbagged the economy, making worse the debt problem she claims to want to solve.
Notice Cory did not provide a link to Noem's column. If you read it, you would understand that Cory is making false accusations. He doesn't want his readers to see the other side of the story and risk being made to look foolish and/or the propagandist that he really is. Again, that is why he has banned me from his web site. I am one of those hated "funda-Tea-gelicals" who are not worthy of a honest listen. Cory only knows how to personally attack those he disagrees with and then present propaganda that dissolves when challenged.
And the link he used to make the argument that Obamacare decreases the National debt ends with this:
Projections of the budgetary impact of H.R. 6079 are quite uncertain because they are based, in large part, on projections of the effects of the ACA, which are themselves highly uncertain. Assessing the effects of making broad changes in the nation’s health care and health insurance systems requires estimates of a broad array of technical, behavioral, and economic factors. Separating the incremental effects of the provisions in the ACA that affect spending for ongoing programs and revenue streams becomes more uncertain as the time since enactment grows.
Cory's argument stands on sinking sand. If Obama's economic policing actually did decrease the National Debt, then why do they need to repeatedly increase the Debt Ceiling during the last five years? It is questions like that that Cory does not want presented on his web site. They get into the way of his propaganda, deception, and false accusations directed at those he hates.
