That was a question put on Senators' desks yesterday by Concerned Women of America. Cory Heidelberger reacts with this:
The CWA borrowed its ad from the LGBT-phobic Minnesota Child Protection League, which used that same image and similar fear tactics in its unsuccessful campaign against Minnesota’s transgender student-athlete policy last fall. CWA’s bathroom panic is unfounded: there is no evidence that transgender-inclusive policies in public accommodations in multiple states have led to any increase in sexual assaults or come-hither looks or whatever it is that so terrifies CWA’s Cindy Flakoll, Rep. Bolin, Senator Bob Ewing, Senator Brock Greenfield, and others in the Legislature’s conservative rump. Besides, students pretty much quit showering at school twenty years ago. The scenario in the CWA flyer just won’t happen.
Advocates of this discrimination continue their political cross-dressing, saying the effort to repeal the SDHSAA transgender-participation policy is about the sanctity of birth certificates, the authority of the state over the activities association, and, most Orwellianly, the protection of children. Don’t fall for it. This persistent effort to undo the SDHSAA’s positive (and so far, complaint-free) policy is the shameful grown-up manifestation of the bullying transgender kids face from their peers…
He goes on to argue that parents who believe it is wrong to let their daughters shower with boys know less than their children:
Senator Bernie Hunhoff observed in floor debate today that today’s teens are more understanding than most legislators’ generation. Take a memo, grown-ups: SB 140 is making a fuss where none is needed.
So we have the New Age revolutionaries saying that you have to let your teenage daughters shower with boys or else be considered stupid bullies. And if Cory really believe kids know more than adults, why did he mention the bullying transgender kids receive from "their peers"? And this is another example of the cultural Neo-Marxists pushing an agenda that is also being pushed by corporatists:
In Midland, Michigan, a woman’s gym membership was suspended after she witnessed a man using the women’s locker room and insisted on telling other women at the gym what she saw. Yvette Cormier, 48, said that on Sunday, February 28, she walked into the Midland Planet Fitness locker room last Saturday and saw a man wearing a wig and “a little bit of blush” who was “huge” and appeared “very manly.” She told ABC News, “I just stopped right there in my tracks. It was a man for sure.”
When she inquired of the front desk why a man was there, the employee answered that the man identified as a woman. Cormier approached the Planet Fitness’ corporate office, only to be told, according to Cormier, that Planet Fitness policy is “whatever gender you feel you are, that’s the locker room you’re allowed to go in… We’ve had lots of complaints about him but we told him to go change in a stall… if you’re uncomfortable with that you can wait until he’s done in there.”
Cormier said she asked, “How about he waits until I’m done in the women’s locker room? Or get a unisex bathroom?” When the employee asked if she wanted to speak with the manager, Cormier responded, ‘I’m calling corporate.'”
And here is the response from corporate:
McCall Gosselin, public relations director for Planet Fitness, stated that whatever gender identity a person decides to use allows them to use that particular locker room. Large, intimidating men dressed up as women have every right to use the women’s locker room. His statement read:
Planet Fitness is committed to creating a non-intimidating, welcoming environment for our members. Our gender identity non-discrimination policy states that members and guests may use all gym facilities based on their sincere self-reported gender identity. The manner in which this member expressed her concerns about the policy exhibited behavior that management at the Midland club deemed inappropriate and disruptive to other members, which is a violation of the membership agreement and as a result her membership was cancelled.
Cormier said that the policy does not create a safe environment for women, and commented, “I feel it’s kind of one-sided. I feel like I am the one who is being punished.”
Or "bullied". Planet Fitness has every right to say who and who can't be a member. Too bad that Cory Heidelberger and his gang of New Age Theocrats do not believe Christians have that same right in regard to gays. They call it discrimination, racism, and bigotry. The New Agers are hypocrites for bullying those they disagree with. They expect Christians to follow their rules. Rules that they don't follow themselves. They are the bigots. Don't say that on Madville, they will strip you of your free speech.
